These amendments also introduced new enforcement mechanisms and expanded the Justice Department's jurisdiction to file cases in federal court on behalf of victims.
In California, this law mandates "full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges or services in all business establishments." This applies to a wide range of entities, including hotels, motels, non-profit organizations, restaurants, theaters, hospitals, barber and beauty shops, housing accommodations, public agencies, and retail establishments.
